Professional Contact Lens Consultations

Dr. Michael Miskulin and Dr. Cory Rued are here to recommend and fit contact lenses that will best suit your exact needs. There are thousands of different contact lens combinations based on prescription, size and curvature. Did you know that contact lenses are FDA-regulated prescription medical devices that if fit improperly can cause serious complications? That is why it is so imperative to see professional, experienced, doctors that have fit hundreds, if not thousands of patients. Our doctors want to ensure that your prescribed contact lenses are comfortable and provide you with crisp, clear vision. Some of the major contact lens companies we work with are listed below.

If you have been unsuccessful in the past, there are many newer options that may be available to you. One great option is scleral contact lenses.

Dr. Cory fit our office manager, Shari, into scleral contact lenses. These lenses have been very successful for our patients, especially those that have struggled with other types of contact lenses or dry eyes. See Shari’s testimonial below!

“Over the past 30 years, I have worn nearly every contact lens on the market. Because of my astigmatism and dry eyes, I had a difficult time achieving 20/20 vision. When my contact lenses would rotate, my vision would fluctuate, and my eyes felt gritty from my dry eye issues. I just could not see as good as I saw with my glasses. I got to the point that I relied more on my glasses than my contact lenses.

Dr. Cory told me about scleral contact lenses, and he said he thought my vision and comfort would be much improved. I was very skeptical and not a very receptive patient. When I put the lenses on for the first time, I was totally amazed at my vision! I had the crispest, clearest vision that I could ever remember! It was better than any previous contact lenses and better than my vision with my glasses. I not only had 20/20 vision, I actually had 20/15 vision — better than 20/20, and my comfort improved!

Since I am at the age where I need help with my near vision too, I wear one contact lens for near vision and the other for distance. It works wonderfully. If I am going to be in a situation where I really want to rely on my distance vision, such as a sporting event, I switch out the near vision contact lens for a distance contact lens.

The lenses are unlike any that I have ever worn, and the insertion and removal techniques, as well as the care, are different than my previous contact lenses. I will admit that it took some getting used to, but I have adapted well. If you have been a difficult contact lens fit in the past, these lenses may just be your answer. Thanks Dr. Cory for not giving up on me and introducing me to scleral lenses!”
